The NCAA management committee on Friday handed down sanctions for those involved in a near free-for-all that happened in a game between Emilio Aguinaldo College and College of Saint Benilde last week.
The Generals were leading last August 4, 76-61, with less than a minute left, when Blazers point guard Joel Tolentino threw an elbow at EAC’s diminutive guard Francis Munsayac. Benilde’s Rhoel Maconocido also elbowed Munsayac and was ejected from the playing court.
Tolentino was meted a three-game suspension by the NCAA, while Maconocido was banned for one game.
EAC coach Gerry Esplana was also handed a one-game suspension for entering the court during the fray. Munsayac was also given a one-game ban for taunting, while his teammate Jorem Morada was also suspended a game for entering the playing court during the near-fracas.
