BAGUIO CITY — Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao on Wednesday ran several rounds on the athletic oval of Teachers Camp here without suffering his usual leg cramps.
Buboy Fernandez, assistant trainer of Team Pacquiao, said the better condition of the champion’s legs was a result of a certain massage applied by local conditioning coach Marvin Somodio, who took over the job a week ago from Alex Ariza.
Even the fans cheering their idol observed that Pacquiao has no more limp especially after a fast, long-distance run.
Earlier, Fernandez said that Pacquiao has regained the speed and timing which were keys in the pound-for-pound king’s conquest of several well known boxers in eight weight divisions.
The results of the series of sparring sessions of the champion against two Russian boxers could prove his observation, Fernandez said.
