LOS ANGELES – Less than two weeks before the big night, Manny Pacquiao and Freddie Roach exuded confidence when they starred during Wednesday’s afternoon workout at the Wild Card.
Pacquiao is set to defend his WBO welterweight crown against Timothy Bradley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and Roach believes the Filipino fighter will get rid of the undefeated American with ease.
“There won’t be a rematch,” said Roach when asked about Bradley’s caper on Tuesday that saw him announcing to the media that he and Pacquiao are bound to face each other for the second time on Nov. 10.
There is a rematch clause in the contract that Bradley signed and Top Rank chief Bob Arum has penciled Nov. 10 as the date.
In case Pacquiao disposes of Bradley, Arum will get somebody else to meet Pacquiao on the said date. As to who will it be, Arum could not say exactly who.
Juan Manuel Marquez is the first priority although Marquez and just about anyone will be relegated to the sidelines in the event Floyd Mayweather finally agrees to slug it out with Pacquiao.
