Olympic Archery: Pinoy hopeful Javier succumbs to world’s best marksman

Filipino archer Mark Javier put up a gallant fight, but succumb to the world’s top marksman to end his London 2012 campaign on Wednesday.
Javier lost to American Brady Ellison, the No. 1 ranked archer in the world, 7-1.
The Filipino shot a solid 27 in the first set, but Ellison was better with 29. The American won the second set, 28-25, before the two men split the third set, 25-all.
But Ellison stamped his class and put an end to Javier’s upset hopes in the fourth set, 29-22.
Javier joins fellow archer Rachel Ann Cabral, who bowed out of the archery competition on Tuesday after falling to crack Russian Inna Stepanova, also by a score of 7-1.
