Filipino shooter Brian Rosario struggled in the first round of the men’s skeet shooting competition, scoring a 22 out of a possible 25 in his Olympic debut on Monday.
Rosario’s score landed him in 21st to 27th places.
The competition is divided into five rounds of 25 shots each. There are 36 competitors in the field, with Qatar’s Nasser Al-Attiya and defending champion Vincent Hancock of the United States topping the first round after shooting a perfect 25.
Only the top six shooters will advance to the final round.
Rosario, who was granted a wildcard sport to the competition by the International Shooting Sport Federation last May, still has a chance to rally in the next four rounds of competition. The second and third rounds will be played on Monday, while the fourth and fifth are slated on Tuesday.
