Pachanga FC clinched the United Football League Division Two crown Saturday after walloping Agila FC, 4-0, to earn promotion to the first division Saturday at the University of Makati football field.
Forward Joven Bedic jumped the gun early in the match, hitting the net at the eighth minute before firing another goal at the 40th to give Pachanga a 2-0 lead at halftime.
The Red Phoenix didn’t look back since, scoring two more goals in the second half to secure the championship.
Despite being one of seven newcomers in the league, Pachanga dominated the division, trouncing most of their opponents by large margins. In fact, they recorded three 13-nil victories in a span of 15 days last March.
All in all, Pachanga has already scored 121 goals while giving up only seven for a whopping differential of 114 points, thanks to the play of former national team player Freddy Gonzalez, who returned from retirement to lead the division with 33 goals.
Pachanga, which has 61 points after winning 20 of their 21 games, still has one match remaining on June 23 against second-ranked Diliman Victory Liner FC, who fell short in their title quest after trailing by eight points with just two games left on their schedule.
In other matches, Cebu Queen City United FC defeated Forza FC, 8-2, while Dolphins United FC sank Lions Meltique Beef FC, 2-0.
