Pacquiao, Bradley shoot ad for fight
Manny Pacquiao and Tim Bradley got to size each other up Monday when they did a commercial shoot in Los Angeles that will be used to promote their June 9 world welterweight title fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Pacquiao and Bradley posed for pictures and were cordial to each other, according to reports LA, where a formal luncheon press conference will be staged Tuesday at the Beverly Hills Hotel to kick off a two-city promotional tour.
The next stop will be in New York and from there, Pacquiao and Bradley would go separate ways: Pacquiao will head back to the Philippines, while Bradley will make one final stop in Connecticut for another round of publicity activities.
The publicity shoot has been a common fixture for Pacquiao fights the last few years. The Filipino did the same thing in the buildup to his bouts with Miguel Cotto of the Puerto Rico, Joshua Clottey of Ghana, Shane Mosley of the United States, and Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico.
Bradley parades a 28-0 win-loss record with 12 knockouts and is a huge underdog, according to oddsmakers.
But Bradley is unfazed, saying Pacquiao hasn’t fought somebody as fast and strong as he is.
Bradley even criticized the choice of Pacquiao’s opponents in the last four years, saying they were over-the-hill.
“I am going to shock the world,” said Bradley last week shortly after signing the contract.
Pacquiao, upon seeing the heavily-muscled Bradly at close range, was impressed.
“He looks strong,” said the 33-year-old Pacquiao.
