Manny Pacquiao has given promoter Bob Arum a piece of his mind after the two met on Friday in the Filipino fighter’s palatial home in General Santos City.
Now that Arum knows what Pacquiao wants next, the 80-year-old Top Rank chief will go over his notes and a decision should be forthcoming by next week whether Pacquiao fights Timothy Bradley, Juan Manuel Marquez, or Miguel Cotto on November 10 in Las Vegas.
“It was a great discussion,” said Pacquiao’s adviser Mike Koncz over the phone as they were wrapping up the lengthy meeting.
Arum arrived in Manila last Wednesday but only got the chance to see Pacquiao on Friday.
Koncz, however, would not provide details of the meeting for fear that it might jeopardize the ongoing talks.
Before coming to Manila, Arum had already programmed the schedule of the multi-city promotional tour that is set to kick off on Sept. 4 in Los Angeles.
If Pacquiao picks Bradley, all of the travelling will done within the US but if he selects Marquez, a stop in Mexico City will have to be made and should Cotto get the assignment to face Pacquiao, a Puerto Rico will also have to be on tap.
Bradley, who stunned Pacquiao with a 12-round split decision win last June 9, is the leading contender to land the juicy Pacquiao fight, while Marquez is a close second. Cotto is the dark horse.
