Pacquiao-Mayweather in 2013? Arum arrives Wednesday to discuss options

Top Rank chief Bob Arum is set to arrive on Wednesday to know what’s on Manny Pacquiao’s mind.

Arum will be arriving with Pacquiao adviser Mike Koncz, carrying news about the result of a mediation meeting featuring lawyers of Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, who is embroiled in a defamation suit that was filed by the Filipino.

But the fact that a mediation has been set in Los Angeles on Monday is a sign that Pacquiao and Mayweather are trying their best to iron out their differences so a super showdown between them can finally be made.

But before they talk about Mayweather, Arum said they all have to deal with the tast at hand.

Pacquiao is booked by Arum to return to the ring on Nov. 10 against one of these men: Timothy Bradley of the US, Juan Manuel Marquez of Mexico and Miguel Cotto of Puerto Rico.

Arum said he has conferred with the handlers of the above-mentioned fighters and will present to the table the pros and cons of each option.

Pacquiao lost to Bradley in a controversial bout last June and looks like keen in facing off with the US fighter.

But InterAKTV has learned that the reason why Pacquiao has been mum about his next fight is that he is hoping that a Mayweather meeting can be arranged for early-2013.

Mayweather has been released from a Las Vegas prison after serving two months of a three-month sentence and in the days leading to his release, it was announced that he has formed a promotional alliance with rapper 50 Cent.

Arum acknowledged that staging a Pacquiao-Mayweather encounter will no longer be as hard as before but cautioned that for a fight to happen, it has to take place in April or May of next year.
