Pau Gasol posts message of support for Filipino typhoon victims
Aside from being one of the best big men in the world, Los Angeles Lakers star Pau Gasol is also known for his humanitarian work. Last year, the Spanish forward spent part of his summer in Ethiopia as part of a UNICEF program. As an ambassador of the organization, he has also traveled to Angola and Gaza in the past.
A citizen of the world, Gasol’s attention was caught tonight by the devastation brought about by Typhoon Pedring in the Philippines, and he sent out a message on his Facebook account to commiserate:
I read with sadness the terrible consequences that the typhoon in Philippines is causing. I send all my support to the people that are suffering this great disaster. My sincere condolences to the families of the victims. I will be paying attention to the evolution of the situation in the next hours.
