PBA fetes Most Valuable Player, top performers in annual Leo Awards

The PBA will fete the best and the brightest in the league’s annual Leo Awards prior to Game Four of the Governors’ Cup finals on Sunday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
Powerade’s Gary David, Petron’s Arwind Santos, B-MEG’s James Yap, and Barangay Ginebra’s Mark Caguioa are the official nominees for the league’s highest individual honor, the Most Valuable Player award.
Rain or Shine’s Paul Lee and Powerade’s JVee Casio figure to compete for the Rookie of the Year award, with Petron’s Marcio Lassiter, Ginebra’s Dylan Ababou, and Air 21′s James Sena rounding out the list of nominees.
Jeff Chan of Rain or Shine, Doug Kramer of Barako Bull, and Josh Urbiztondo of B-MEG will dispute the league’s Most Improved Player Award, while Casio, Larry Fonacier of Talk ‘N Text, and Peter June Simon of B-MEG are in the running for the Sportsmanship Award.
The league will also name the winners for the First and Second Mythical Team and the All-Defensive Team. Each five-man team will be comprised of two guards and three centers or forwards.
