Petron Blaze import Eddie Basden made the best first impression on fans in the maiden week of the 2012 Governors’ Cup.
Basden, who led the Boosters to wins against Powerade and Meralco, drew 41.02% of the votes in a poll by InterAKTV as of 12:53 p.m. on Monday, winning by a landslide.
The former Chicago Bull has meshed well with Petron’s star-laden lineup, taking a backseat early on offense before taking over late in games. Known as a defensive specialist in college, Basden also showed he could handcuff counterpart reinforcements during key moments in the game.
Over his first two games, Basden has posted impressive averages of 26 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and three steals for Petron, the defending champion of the tournament.
B-MEG’s Marqus Blakely came in a far second at 18.21%, while Ginebra’ Cedric Bozeman (15.29%) and Alaska’s Jason Forte (11.99%) rounded out the top four.
