Philippine women’s dragon boat team reaches finals of Macau international tilt
The Philippine dragon boat racing team Triton reached the grand finals in the 2012 Macau Dragon Boat International competition, placing 6th in the Women’s 500 meters category held in Nam Van Lake, in Macau last June 23.
The Philippine team competed against international teams, which included strong national teams from China, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, and Singapore.
Rowie Enriquez, the team’s officer, said that they will be competing next week in Hong Kong for the International Dragon Boat Federation Club Crew World Championship.
The team will be pitted against the best club teams around the world in the Standard Boat Women and Mix events for 2000m, 500m, and 200m, and Small Boat Open/Men for 500m and 200m.
The Macau International Dragon Boat Race is held annually with the support of the Macau Government, particularly the Macau Sport Development Board and the Macau, China Dragon Boat Association.
