Philippines settles for fifth in U-13 girls football fest
The Philippine under-13 girls football team yielded to leaders Thailand, 2-1, to wound up in fifth place Friday in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-13 Girls Festival of Football at the Thong Nat Stadium in Vietnam.
Prior to the match, the nationals lost their last three games after an impressive 5-1 victory over Cambodia, who finished last in the group after failing to notch a win.
Thailand, meanwhile, topped the group, followed by Guam, Vietnam and Myanmar.
The AFC formed the festival to develop young football players and coaches in Southeast Asia.
