Philippines to host two international women’s football tournaments
The Philippine Football Federation has secured the hosting of two international women’s football competitions later this year.
The Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila will be the venue for the qualifiers of the Under-16 and Under-19 Asian Football Confederation Women’s Championship in 2013, with the Philippine national women’s football team participating in both tournaments.
In the U-19 qualifiers slated on Oct. 17 to Oct. 21, the Malditas are grouped with Chinese Taipei, Myanmar and Hongkong.
In the U-16 qualifiers, Filipinos will be battling Australia, Thailand and Myanmar on Nov. 7 to Nov. 11.
The Philippines also hosted both of the tournaments in 2010 at the University of Makati Stadium, failing to get past the group stages.
