The Philippine Olympic Committee continues to contend that the Philippine Dragon Boat Federation team that won five gold and two silver medals at the recent 10th World Dragon Boat Racing Championships in Tampa, Florida is not a true national team.
But that didn’t stop the President of the Republic of the Philippines, Benigno Aquino III, from feting the rowers upon their return to the country on Friday. P-Noy gave the Dragon Warriors a presidential citation for “establishing themselves as an inspiration to their countrymen.”
