Members of the SMART-Gilas Pilipinas national team appeared at the Philippine Senate on Monday, where they were honored for winning the 34th William Jones Cup last month. The team will plunge into battle once again on Friday in the FIBA Asia Cup in Tokyo, Japan.

A separate resolution was filed to commend LA Tenorio, who won Most Valuable Player honors in the Jones Cup.

Earlier, the team made a courtesy call to President Benigno Aquino III in Malacanang shortly after winning the tournament.
