With their backs against the wall, the B-MEG Llamados might have to go into Game Five of the Governors’ Cup finals series against Rain or Shine without their emotional leader.
Marc Pingris is “doubtful” to play in the Llamados’ next outing, according to B-MEG coach Tim Cone.
“He’s got a severe stiff neck from the Arana foul,” said Cone, referring to the Game Four incident involving Pingris and Rain or Shine swingman Ryan Arana.
Pingris retaliated with a head-butt after Arana fouled him, and was called for a flagrant foul penalty one. The PBA later upgraded the flagrant foul to a penalty two, and fined Pingris P20,000.
After the game, Pingris said he did not regret his actions. “Hindi ko pinagsisihan yung ginawa ko sa kanya. Barumbado kasi siya dumepensa,” he said.
Rain or Shine leads the best-of-seven series, 3-1, and only needs one more victory to secure the franchise’s first PBA title.
