For the second straight game, the Petron Blaze Boosters collapsed after taking a big lead, putting the defending champions in danger of losing their crown.

In a series of tweets, Petron assistant coach Olsen Racela echoed the thoughts of Boosters fans frustrated about the performance of the team.

Against B-MEG on Wednesday, the Boosters were leading by 19 points when Llamados coach Tim Cone was ejected from the game. That sparked a mini-rally for B-MEG, who cut the lead to 13 points at the half.

But Petron was still up 12 points early in the fourth quarter, before the Llamados unleashed a huge rally to win the game going away, 104-93.

It was the same story for the Boosters against Barangay Ginebra last Sunday. After controlling most of the game, the Gin Kings rallied back to win on a last-second floater by import Cedric Bozeman to steal the victory.

The back-to-back losses put Petron out of the running for the “win 4-of-5″ incentive in the semifinals, which guarantees a playoff for the second finals. To have a shot at making the championship round, the Boosters need to sweep their last two games while hoping that no one among B-MEG (8-3), Ginebra (7-4), and Talk ‘N Text (6-5) wins more than eight games.
