Ready to help: Rain or Shine willing to release multiple players to national team

PBA teams have agreed to lend at least one player to the national team.
But Rain or Shine is willing to go above and beyond that, with team owner Raymond Yu saying the squad is willing to release more than one player to the SMART-Gilas Pilipinas national pool.
“We’re reaffirming our support to the national team and we’re willing to loan more than one player,” Yu told InterAKTV.
Last year, Gabe Norwood and Jeff Chan helped SMART-Gilas win the Jones Cup.
“If they will ask for these two players, willing kami ipahiram,” said Yu. “Maski isama pa si Beau Belga. In my opinion, the national team needs to have someone like Belga in the squad, pero hindi naman namin ipipilit.”
Commissioner Chito Salud said he welcomes the move by individual teams to lend more than the required.
“If there are teams which will lend two apiece, that means seven na lang ang kulang because they still have Marcus Douthit,” said Salud. “I think we can form a very competitive national squad for the FIBA Asia Championship.”
