Rejuvenated Lady Tams level UAAP title series

Far Eastern University poured it all in the final two quarters amidst Typhoon Pedring’s onslaught to beat two-time defending champion Adamson University, 72-50, in Game Two of the UAAP Season 74 women’s basketball finals at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Allana Lim had 17 points, Camile Sambile made 14 and Karen Columna contributed 13 markers for the Lady Tamaraws, who foiled the Lady Falcons’ bid for a series sweep with a mighty comeback in the second half.

The Lady Tamaraws trailed 10-13 in the first quarter and 25-31 at the half, but outgunned their rivals, 26-8, in the third period to swing the momentum over to their side.

Unable to pull their act together in the final quarter, the Lady Falcons were limited to just 11 while the Lady Tamaraws pounced on Adamson’s rattled defense to score 21 of their own to snatch the victory and send the series to a winner-take-all duel on Saturday at the Big Dome

Angelica Ortega had 14 points and seven rebounds, Anna Buendia also had 14 points and 11 rebounds and Fria Bernardo made 10 markers for Adamson.
