RnW faces PC Gilmore; Cobra, Cafe France look for first wins
RnW Pacific Pipes hopes to build momentum with two new players as it goes up against PC Gilmore Thursday in the 2011-2012 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Far Eastern University Gym in Manila.
The Steelmasters go up against the Wizards at 4 p.m.
Fil-Ams JR Buensuceso and Jordan Sanvictores led RnW’s attack in their debut game, combining for 36 points in the Steelmasters’ 80-76 come-from-behind victory over Cafe France.
Buensuceso and Sanvictores got their certificate of recognition from the Bureau of Immigration paving the way from the California-based players to play in the league.
“I hope that they can fit well in the system. So far, they have been responding very well. They are also fighters which fit the personality of our team,” said RnW Pacific Pipes coach Topex Robinson.
So far, PC Gilmore is struggling as the Wizards have yet to notch a victory in two games.
But the Wizards will also have additional reinforcements as Fil-Ams AJ Mandani and Kelly Nabong have secured their own Bureau of Immigration certificates of recognition.
In the first game, Cobra Energy Drink and Cafe France slug it out in a battle of winless teams.
The 2 p.m. match-up will see teams looking to bounce back from sorry defeats this week.
The Ironmen were drubbed by Boracay Rum, 70-56, last Tuesday at the Jose Rizal University Gym while the Bakers saw their 12-point lead going into the fourth quarter slip away against RnW Pacific Pipes.
