Barangay Ginebra executive Robert Non formally took over chairmanship of the PBA for the 38th season on Friday in the league’s planning meeting in Macau.
Non is taking over the role from Mamerto Mondragon of newly-crowned Governors’ Cup champion Rain or Shine.
A long-time member of the PBA Board of Governors, Non becomes the third Ginebra official to become chairman of the PBA after Carlos “Honey Boy” Palanca in the early 1980s and Bernabe Navarro in the 1990s.
Meralco executive Mon Segismundo was elected vice-chairman, while former chairman Ely Capacio of Petron was installed treasurer.
