Run set to commemorate late journalist Chit Estella, promote road safety

To mark the first death anniversary of veteran journalist and educator Lourdes E. Simbulan, more popularly known by her byline, Chit Estella, a fun run has been set on Sunday, May 13 to promote awareness about road safety.
Simbulan, who was co-founder of the investigative journalism group VERA Files and professor at University of the Philippines, was killed on May 13, 2011, when the taxi she was riding in was rammed by a bus in front of the UP-Ayala Technohub in Diliman, Quezon City along Commonwealth Avenue.
The event, dubbed the Second OneA Fun Run for Road Safety, will start off at OneA Center, Sumulong Highway, Antipolo at 5 a.m. The 3k, 5k and 10k run will start at OneA Event Center on Sumulong Highway and will finish at University Avenue in UP Diliman. The 12k run will end at the Quezon City Memorial Circle.
The event is organized with the Department of Transportation and Communication under its Decade of Action for Road Safety program.
Registration fee is P300, which comes with a singlet for runners.
