San Sebastian College seeks for a sweep the semifinal of the PCCL National Championship against University of Cebu Thursday at the FilOil-Flying V Arena in San Juan.
With a finals seat already locked in, the Stags take on the Webmasters at 4 p.m. looking to enter the title series on a high note after clinching the twice-to-beat incentive against Ateneo, 70-69.
“I’m going to tell the boys to win as much as we can and take it from there,” said San Sebastian coach Topex Robinson.
Meanwhile, Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Educational Foundation takes on La Salle-Greenhills at 2 p.m. in a charity game between the UAAP and NCAA runners-up.
Robinson said that fatigue should not be an issue for San Sebastian. The Stags have been playing three games in four days plus some others also saw action in the PBA D-League in between.
“I’m not worried about fatigue because other teams are also playing three games in four days. It’s not an excuse. This tournament is more of the mental aspect, so we have to be mentally tough,” Robinson said.
The Webmasters hope to go home to Cebu with a win following a 47-point defeat against Ateneo and an 83-77 loss to San Beda.
Highly-touted center Jun Mar Fajardo is averaging 18.5 points and 12.5 rebounds in two contests but his efforts weren’t enough against the UAAP and NCAA champions.
