Adamson star swingman Alex Nuyles’ last season in the UAAP has been cut short by a shoulder injury.

“To those who are asking I won’t be able to play this season anymore,” Nuyles wrote on his Twitter account Tuesday. “It will be very hard for me to leave the team in the middle of the season. But I have to do what I have to do.”

Nuyles, who was already suffering from an ankle injury at the start of the season, injured his right shoulder in the first quarter of their 77-62 loss to National University last Sunday. He added on his tweet that he will be undergoing an operation soon.

He helped the Falcons secure a final four berth last season, where they lost twice to Far Eastern University despite having a twice-to-beat-edge. Nuyles had a breakout performance last year, earning a spot in the Mythical Five after finishing third in the league in scoring with an average of 15.2 points a game.

However, injuries slowed Nuyles down this season, scoring just 6.3 points a game. He is in his fifth year for the Falcons.
