Amid speculation about his future with San Miguel Corporation, Rajko Toroman said he hasn’t been offered to take over the helm of one of the conglomerate’s basketball squads.
“As far as I’m concerned, I am consultant at San Miguel Corporation,” Toroman told InterAKTV in a telephone interview. “There’s no coaching offer for now.”
Toroman, a former coach of the SMART-Gilas Pilipinas national program, acts as a consultant for the Petron Blaze Boosters in the PBA and the San Miguel Beermen in the ASEAN Basketball League.
SMC executive Robert Non said in a text message that the company has not yet discussed the possibility about Toroman taking over head coaching chores for any of its teams. Apart from Petron and San Miguel, SMC also bankrolls B-MEG and Ginebra in the PBA.
Toroman serves as a bench consultant for Ato Agustin of Petron, which has been eliminated from contention in the ongoing Governors’ Cup. The Boosters won the title in last season’s edition of the tournament.
