The star-studded closing ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympics, which closed the 16-day competitions that saw the participation of over 10,000 athletes from around the world, will be aired today on both TV5 and AKTV on IBC.
The closing ceremony, entitled “A Symphony of British Music”, celebrated British music with acts such as Queen, Take That and the Spice Girls leading over 4,100 performers, including 3,500 volunteers and 380 schoolchildren, in capping off the quadrennial games.
It will be aired on TV5 starting 12 noon today. The primetime replay will air on AKTV on IBC at 8:30 p.m.
Academy Award-nominated film and Tony Award-winning theater director Stephen Daldry was the creative director and executive producer for the closing ceremonies. Representatives from 2016 Olympic host country Brazil, led by football legend Pele, also gave the 80,000-strong crowd a preview of what’s in store in four years’ time.
