Filipinos all over the country will have the opportunity to watch every game featuring the Philippine team in the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship live.
TV5 and Solar Entertainment Corporation have joined forces to broadcast the event on Philippine television.
“Every Philippine team game is going to be shown live on TV5,” said Sports5 head Chot Reyes, who also coaches the SMART-Gilas Pilipinas national team.
Games will also be broadcast over Solar’s cable channel Basketball TV.
“Ang responsibility namin dito is to bring the game to your homes,” said Solar chairman Wilson Tieng. “Ang gusto namin ang coverage namin is the best we can do for the Filipino audience.”
Reyes said that it’s also an opportunity to show other countries the advances in sports broadcasting in the Philippines.
“I think we are among the best when it comes to basketball [broadcasting] in Asia,” said Reyes.
“Ang pag-cover natin dito ay top-notch compared to the other countries in Asia.”
