UAAP orders re-play of controversial FEU-NU match

The UAAP Board of Trustees have ordered a re-play of the match between National University and Far Eastern University last September 2.

The Bulldogs put the game under protest, alleging that Tamaraws guard RR Garcia’s buzzer-beating layup should not have counted.

UAAP commissioner Ato Badolato earlier thumbed down the protest. This prompted NU management to raise the case to the league’s technical committee, which overturned Badolato’s decision. The board unanimously upheld the NU appeal.

According to the board, “pieces of evidences/statements/video used in the deliberation were inconclusive and unclear.”

The re-play is slated on September 23.
