The UAAP has postponed its scheduled games on Wednesday due to inclement weather.

Games between La Salle and Adamson at 2 p.m. and University of the East and University of Santo Tomas at 4 p.m. at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum have been postponed until further notice, according to league president Nilo Ocampo.

Scheduled women’s basketball matches between University of the Philippines and Far Eastern University at 10:15 a.m. and UST and Ateneo at 6:30 p.m. have also suspended.

Fans are advised to keep their tickets for it to be honored once the new schedule for the games has been determined.

Earlier, the UAAP cancelled its junior basketball games slated Tuesday at the San Juan Arena.

This is not the first time that the league was forced to suspend its games due to the bad weather. Games last July 21 between UE and Adamson and UP and UST were already rescheduled on August 15 due to tropical depression “Ferdie.”

More than half of a month’s average rainfall has been pouring on Metro Manila and some parts of Luzon since Monday due to an enhanced southwest monsoon, according to the state weather bureau.

The downpour has also caused overflow of some dams and waterways and heavy floods in affected areas.
