UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey scored the fastest submission in a UFC title fight after forcing challenger Cat Zingano to tap out to an armbar 14 seconds into the main event of UFC 184 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
Rousey, who is now 11-0 in her MMA career and 5-0 in a UFC Octagon, made a fourth successive defense of her 135-lb. division title.
In her most recent fight, she finished off Alexis Davis in a 16-second knockout win.
She needed even less time in this one as Zingano charged out right at the bell. It wasn’t long after that than the fight went to the ground and the dominant Rousey put an end to the bout with her signature armbar.
It was Zingano’s first loss in her MMA career. She is now 9-1 (2-1 in the UFC).
In the main card, Holly Holm defeated Raquel Pennington via split decision while Jake Ellenberger grabbed a submission win over Josh Koscheck in a welterweight bout.
Filipino-American Mark Muñoz fell to Roan Carneiro in the first round of their middleweight fight on the preliminary card.
