Star striker Phil Younghusband exploded for six goals to lead the Loyola Meralco Sparks to a 9-0 victory over Philippine Navy in United Football Cup action last Sunday at the Emperador Stadium.
Younghusband scored goals at the 48th, 49th, 59th, 67th, 72nd and 76th minutes to carry Loyola, which registered its second straight dominating victory after drowning Dolphins United, 16-0, last October 19.
Meanwhile, Dolphins United bounced back from a humiliating loss to Loyola in its last outing after pulling off its own dominating victory against Blue Guards FC, 11-1.
Abdou Moussa Obono bagged a hat trick for Dolphins to hand another blowout loss to Blue Guards, which suffered a 17-0 drubbing at the hands of Green Archers United globe last week.
Defending champion Stallion Sta.Lucia also dispatched Bright Star FC, 3-1, to bounce back from an upset loss.
Ruben Doctora, Park Bo Bae and Jeremy Hohn scored one goal apiece for Stallion, which was toppled by guest squad Cebu Queen City United, 4-1, last Monday to take a step back in its title defense bid.
In other matches last weekend, Philippine Army edged guest squad Ceres FC, 1-0, for its first victory, while Philippine Air Force blanked Agila FC, 3-0.
Manila Jeepney FC also rallied to force a 1-1 draw against Pachanga Diliman FC.
