The United Football League will make its debut at the newly-built Emperador Stadium in McKinley Hill in Taguig on Saturday.
The artificial pitch will host matches between Division Two squads Cebu Queen City United FC and Dolphins United FC at 4 p.m. as well as the Division One tiff between Nomads FC and Philippine Air Force at 6 p.m.
Three Division Two matches will also be played in the venue on Sunday, with Manila All-Japan FC playing Cimarron FC at 4 p.m., Laos FC clashing with Agila FC at 6 p.m., and Team Socceroo colliding against Union International Manila at 8 p.m.
The first televised matches at the Emperador Stadium will happen on February 12, featuring games between Pachanga Diliman FC and the Loyola Meralco Sparks at 5:15 p.m. and Green Archers United Globe and Kaya FC at 7:30 p.m.
Majority of the remaining matches in the League competition is expected to be played at the new stadium, according to the UFL. The first two dates in its League calendar this week were held at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium.
The venue was named after liquor company Emperador Distillers Inc., which is a sister company of the stadium’s developer, real estate giant Megaworld.
Two years ago, the UFL signed a deal with Megaworld that will give the league priority on the field usage for the next four years.
