The University of the Philippines Pep Squad bagged four gold medals to rule the cheerleading competition of the 2013 POC-PSC Philippine National Games Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
An eight-time UAAP Cheerdance competition champion, UP topped all of the categories they joined, namely the Cheer Dance, Cheer Mixed, Partner Stunt, and Group Stunts Mixed events.
UP also dominated the competition in its inaugural edition in 2011, while University of Santo Tomas ruled the tilt last year.
With the victory, UP earned the right to represent the Philippines in the 2013 Cheerleading World Championships in Bangkok, Thailand in November this year. The squad finished third in the same competition two years ago.
