VIDEO | UP alumni group The Crew bags first place in world hip hop

The Crew, a Filipino dance group, won first place in the Adult Division of the World Hip Hop Dance Championships Sunday in Las Vegas, United States.

The dance group, composed of University of the Philippines alumni, bested seven other groups in the finals. Neutral Zone of Mexico placed second while the Academy of Villains, from USA, landed on the third spot.

The Crew is not the only Philippine team who won in the said international dance competition. The UP Street Dance Club bagged the bronze medal in the MegaCrew Division.

Over 40 countries partook in the annual dance event. These countries include Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, United States of America to name a few.

World Hip Hop Dance Championship is an event created to gather the world’s best dancers and showcase the values of hip hop culture.

It is produced by Hip Hop International, the same producer who brought MTV’s Randy Jackson presents America’s Best Dance Crew, Word Battles and a lot more.
