The University of the Philippines Streetdance Club bagged the bronze medal in the MegaCrew Division of the World Hip Hop Dance Championships Saturday in Las Vegas, United States.
Scoring 7.43 points in the finals, the UP Streetdance Club fell behind the 7.62 points of US dance team GRV and the 7.91 points of two-time champions Royal Family of New Zealand.
The UP dancers, who joined the event for the first time, also ranked second in the preliminaries before marching to the championship round.
This is not the first time a dance group from the Philippines won in the event as the Philippine All-Stars clinched the crown in the Adult Crews Division in 2006 and 2008.
Over 2500 countries from 40 countries participated in the annual hip hop dance event.
