Miami Heat superstar LeBron James will visit the Philippines for the first time on July 23.
The trip is part of his Witness History tour for shoe brand Nike.
Tickets to the event will be distributed at noon on Wednesday, July 17, at the Nike Park in Bonifacio Global City. While tickets are free, they will be given on a first come, first serve basis.
For James, a four-time NBA Most Valuable Player, this will be his first trip since his second straight NBA title run with the Miami Heat.
Nike said that James visit is an opportunity for the global icon to inspire basketball-crazy Filipino fans.
“LeBron seizes each opportunity to improve every aspect of his game, admitting that he is far from a finished product. He preaches that greatness is a process that requires continual introspection and fine-tuning,” said the company.
James’ first visit adds to an already banner year for the Philippines when it comes to NBA basketball. The Indiana Pacers and the Houston Rockets are set to play the first NBA history in the country in October.
