Mark Barroca was raring to get into action in the third quarter of San Mig Coffee’s game against Barako Bull.
The only problem was, he was wearing the wrong jersey.
Instead of his usual No. 14, Barroca was caught donning a No. 11 Alex Mallari uniform, resulting in a technical foul against the Mixers.
Barroca had to be subbed out and went back to the locker room to put on the correct jersey.
San Mig Coffee team manager Alvin Patrimonio said wearing the wrong uniform was Barroca’s fault.
“Responsibilty ng player dapat yun kasi ikaw magsusuot eh, so dapat alam mo kung tama yun or not,” Patrimonio told InterAKTV.
“Kinausap ko rin si Mark about that and told him to keep his focus. These are little things. Mabuti nga ipinasok pa siya ni Coach Tim (Cone).”
Barroca was at a loss to explain how the mix-up happened.
“Kasi nilalagay sa amin yan sa upuan, tigalawa kaming lahat. So nung natapos na yung first half, hindi ko alam na hindi ko pala jersey yung suot ko,” said Barroca.
“Next time, kailangan i-double check ko na.”
