Looks like one for the road will now have a different meaning.

Residue from whisky called the biobutanol was able to power a car for the first time during a test-drive at Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland.

Engines of vehicles don’t need to be changed to be able to use the fuel produced from a yeast based by-product made from distilling and fermentation.

The whisky-based fuel was created by Celtic Renewables Ltd, a spinout company from the university.
