Feeling the chilly air and the sound of Christmas carols already? Well, here’s a healthy way to start soaking up the season—by kickstarting your own holiday celebration on a healthy note and for charity.
This weekend, Robinsons Supermarket in Eastwood City launched its Bike to Reach Php100,000 campaign. All you need to do is be game about giving back; hop on the bike and pedal with joy in your heart for two minutes. Every two minutes raises Php500 in cash; the end goal of this activity is Php100,000, which will be donated in cash by Robinsons Supermarket to World Vision.
Surely cool way to give back while you get a little gift of fitness in return for cycling (roughly about 20 to 26 calories at a moderate pace of 14 to 16 mph).
The bike for a cause is just one of the offerings of Robinsons Supermarket’s Give Wellness fair. Families, especially those with little kids, are encouraged to have fun trying out the games in its Christmas-themed booths like Gingerbread Golf, Feed Me Noche Buena, Santa Falls, and Five Golden Rings, among others. Get free treats from event sponsors like Selecta, CDO, Purefoods, and Del Monte.
Angela Totanes, Robinsons Supermarket marketing manager told InterAksyon that the Give Wellness campaign was launched last November 1 and will run till December 31 this year. She said, “We wanted to bring the supermarket atmosphere out here to be able to give our message across shoppers and, at the same time, offer fun and education activities as well that are related to wellness.”
The mall event is the last leg in the campaign. At the same time, we also believe that wellness is about caring—and caring is sharing—that’s why for this event, we have our advocacy, which is to support World Vision’s Bike to Raise Php100,000 activity for its programs for children in indigent communities.”
But, of course, you can snap a selfie with Santa at the Snow Globe photo booth.
The event is free and open to the public at Eastwood Mall’s open park from November 5 yo 6 (Saturday and Sunday) during mall hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Oh, and there’s also a pop-up grocery by Robinsons Supermarket that showcases its signature heathy corner of food items.
To take part in this weekend’s Give Wellness activities, simply sign your name at the designated registration booth to participate in the event.
