Fellow Banh mi addicts can now rejoice with the recent opening of Banh mi Saigon in the heart of Angeles City.
The brand new take-out joint is the brainchild of balikbayan Chef Rex Soriano, an alumnus of the Culinary Institute of America and the kitchens of Nobu and Wolfgang Puck. The Kapampangan chef who is married to a Filipina-Vietnamese aims to promote the flavors of Vietnam, a cuisine that he has learned to love and has recreated through his own versions of the banh mi.
What’s on the menu? Three variants of the traditional Vietnamese sandwiches or banh mi. Toasted baguettes stuffed with your choice of savory meat enhanced with pate, pickled carrots, daikon, cucumber and cilantro. Plus, fresh and fried spring rolls.
