The 600-sqm. coworking space developed by the Bonifacio Development Corporation (FBDC), the developer behind Bonifacio Global City, offers its clients reliable fast internet connection; free coffee and refreshments; postal or courier services; and digital scanning and printing services among others.

“We kind of realized that we’re neglecting a very important and promising industry, and we call them the start ups, SMEs, consultants. We kind of like to nurture them as well.. We want this to be an incubator space for these companies. When you go to Square One BGC, our newest development, you don’t need to worry about anything but focus on your business, focus your resources on business,” Eli Yaneza, FBDC’s manager for business development, property planning, and office leasing said in a press conference.

Apart from these conveniences, Square One BGC also highlights the facility as a dynamic space for collaboration, and for its clients to have a sense of belongingness in a community; thus having areas like meeting rooms or a social hall where teambuilding activities, exhibits, product launches, and parties can be held.

“We have social halls where you can network with friends or future partners. We have a digital library inside that nurtures your passion and ideas,” Yaneza said.

As an added offer, Square One BGC features trainign sessions, seminars, speed meetings, motivational talks called SquareTalks,game and quiz nights, film screenings, and more. Clients of the facility can also avail of special discounts and freebies from partner BGC establishments.

“If the model before is that the worker goes to the workplace, now it’s the workplace that goes to the worker..The worker doesn’t want just a simple office space, (they) want everything. Open from Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Square One BGC lets its client to choose from different subscription options: the Hot Desks, a pay-per-use option where one can pay Php600 for a day; the Dedicated Desks, wherein clients have their dedicated desk for Php12, 500 a month; the Small Office, which can be rented for Php 37, 000a month, and can hold up to 14 individuals; the Meeting Rooms, which can be rented for Php500 per hour.

Growth of coworking spaces
Coworking spaces like Square One BGC caters to budding businesses who might find operational costs discouraging.

According to Flyspaces CEO Mario Berta, it was reported that Metro Manila probably have the lowest office vacancy rate in the world which is 4%.

Flyspaces also noted that coworking spaces help in improving an individual’s attitude towards work. In the same study, it mentioned that according to Deskmag, 71% of co-workers feel more creative, and 62% see improvement in the quality of their work in coworking spaces.
