EARTH DAY ADVISORY: Portions of Ayala Avenue closed to traffic on April 22

Traffic will be rerouted at the Makati Central Business District (CBD) starting at 6am of April 22, Sunday, to make way for the Celebration of Earth Day 2012 dubbed “Earth Day Everyday, Everywhere” at the Ayala Triangle Gardens and Tower One and Exchange Plaza (TOEP).

Ayala Property Management Corporation Traffic Consultant Estela Lomat saidwestbound lanes of Ayala Avenue from Makati Avenue to Paseo de Roxas; Northbound lanes of Paseo de Roxas from Ayala Avenue to Makati Avenue; and Southbound lanes of Makati Avenue from Paseo de Roxas to Ayala Avenue will be closed to traffic for the whole duration of the program.

Meanwhile, two innermost eastbound lanes of Ayala Avenue from Gil Puyat Avenue to Paseo de Roxas and the innermost northbound lane of Makati Avenue from Arnaiz Avenue to Ayala Avenue will be closed from 7:30am to 10:00am for the E(cological) Lakad and Tigil Buga.

Motorists are advised to take the following alternate routes on April 22, Sunday:Vehicles along Ayala Avenue from EDSA going towards the direction of Gil Puyat Avenue shall turn right at Makati Avenue, left at Paseo de Roxas and right at Ayala Avenue to destination; Vehicles along Paseo de Roxas from Legaspi Village going towards the direction of Gil Puyat Avenue shall turn right at Ayala Avenue and left at Makati Avenue to destination;  and Vehicles along Makati Avenue and Paseo de Roxas from Gil Puyat Avenue going towards Ayala Center or EDSA shall take Paseo de Roxas and left at Ayala Avenue;

During the parade, eastbound vehicles along Ayala Avenue from Gil Puyat Avenue shall be confined on the two outermost lanes until the tail end of the parade reaches the intersection of Paseo de Roxas. Likewise, southbound vehicles along Makati Avenue from Arnaiz Avenue going towards Ayala Avenue shall use the outer lanes.

Monitoring teams coming from the Makati Police, Makati Fire Department, Makati Command Control Center (C3), and Makati Public Safety Department will be on hand ensure that the activity is properly executed.
