What makes this hotel stand out?
Originally an old building that has been redesigned and reinvented in a color palette inspired by the various works of renowned Spanish painter Pablo Picasso. It has also partnered with Altro Mondo, an establishment that, in its entirety, doubles as an alternative art space/art gallery at the adjacent lobby of the hotel. Picasso’s architect Dominic Galicia has attributed the hotel’s design concept with the idea of cubism; he said “It’s the idea of seeing one thing, an object in space, from different vantage points and then reassembling those different views into a new form. So you’re taking an object that you see every day and seeing it in a totally new way—that’s the chord in Picasso that struck us.” Housed in Makati’s Salcedo Village, Picasso has added a cooler and more hip layer into the otherwise corporate atmosphere of the locale.
