The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) commemorates its series of activities to celebrate its 20 years of incorporation since July 14 of 1992, with the launching of a national art competition today. The competition is themed “Nagkakaisang Pilipino Para sa Maunlad at Masigasig na Kalakalan”.
Part of PSE’s objective is to integrate art in advocating the role of business in national development and to support the Filipino artistic talent and culture. The competition also aims to highlight PSE’s role as a partner in social and economic progress, and to promote public awareness and appreciation of an investment culture in the country.
The competition has two categories: Painting (Oil and Acrylic) and Sculpture, open to all non-professional artists age 21 and above. Non-professional artists refer to those who have not have any solo exhibit previous to and during the competition and its exhibition.
No less than National Artists Ben Cabrera and Abdulmari Imao will lead the team of judges for painting and sculpture respectively. The two artists will be joining the PSE Board of Directors during the bell ringing ceremonies today.
The winning entry will be used as the cover for the Annual Report 2012 of the exchange and other marketing collaterals.
Deadline for submission is on October 1, 2012. For further details, interested applicants may contact the project secretary at Studio 5 Designs, (+632) 895-3971/75.
