Still procrastinating on deciding where to bring your darling on Valentine’s night? Resorts World Manila (RWM) has everything you’ll most likely need to have a memorable celebration.
For a Paris-inspired dinner, Impressions Executive Chef Cyrille Soenen offers Romantic Rendezvous, a four-course dinner menu featuring the best of French cuisine, artfully plated and perfectly prepared to light up the senses.
The Romantic Rendezvous prix fixe menu begins with a light and frothy amuse bouche of mousse of scallops and celery crumble served with orange-scented tuile and chive oil. Appetizer consists of poached and seared duck liver with arugula, smoked beet puree, parmesan tuile, and red onion marmalade, followed by a comforting bowl of creamy broth of mussels and leeks, with a healthy side of edamame and Akegai clam meuniere and micro salad.
For the entrée, it’s a choice of slow-roasted Angus prime rib, roasted Chilean sea bass, or minute-marinated French duck breast—each served with sidings that best complement the central dish.
This delicious dinner presents a sweet finish in the form of mixed berry chiboust, a quenelle of citrus-scented dark chocolate ganache, a sponge and coulis duo of strawberry, 70% Guanaja Valrhona gelato, chocolate soil, and meringue.
Meanwhile, The Terrace at Maxims hotel takes it up a notch with a gourmet set dinner, a sommelier’s selection of wine pairings, a live acoustic band, floral arrangements, and languorous lighting by the poolside for an unforgettable date.
For a refreshing starter, there’s orange-scented goat cheese salad with braised red beets, avocado, and arugula, followed by a steaming bowl of creamy lobster bisque with carrot pearls, will leave your taste buds wanting more.
The Terrace’s selection of mains includes boneless beef shortribs braised in red wine served with cheddar cheese polenta and roasted cippolini onions and chestnuts; crispy pan-seared snapper fillet basted with sweet and sour tamarind glaze on Nicoise vegetables and rosemary butter sauce; or chicken Kiev stuffed with grilled ratatouille vegetables and mozzarella served on a bed of sundried tomato sauce and olive capellini pasta.
Cheesecake St. Valentine is The Terrace’s ode to romance. Toppings of lusciously tart lemon and berry marmalade, and a crisp citrus tuile add depth and texture to the velvety sweetness of the cheesecake.
Diners at the Terrace may choose between a table for two by the poolside or with the privacy of a cabanas for a truly decadent and romantic evening.
