Consider this week as that time for reckoning especially for those who have been swamped with work and have zero time for trips to the shopping bazaars or malls.
A shopping plan, a written list, and focused mind are the essentials now, especially for keeping stress levels low while braving through malls and markets crowded with hundreds of hurried shoppers.
Instead of leaving bags and packages at shopping counters and concierge areas for pickups afterwards, Robinsons Magnolia in New Manila, Quezon City offers a unique feature to help ease some of that holiday hassle: free porter service.
Simply approach the mall’s Porter Service counter and an attendant will be assigned to you. (Note: with the holiday rush this weekend, porter service may depend on availability). No more lugging around shopping bags or leaving your packages in several stores. The malls’ porters are trained to carry their customers’ bags efficiently—even serve as guides as the latter find their way through their preferred shops.
According to Robinsons Malls Regional Operations Manager Mylene Del Rosario, the service was launched last year in time for the holidays. Due to its success, the mall decided to offer the service early, in October, this year. “What makes the service even more convenient is that it’s a partnership between the mall and its business partners. Shopper don’t have to leave their luggage in various store counters or carry heavy bags while they shop.
“The service is especially convenient for mothers or parents with kids, for the elderly.”
Robinsons Magnolia is located at the former Magnolia Dairy Products plant, which housed the iconic Magnolia ice cream parlor popular during the 70s and 80s. When Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) acquired the property and built the mall in 2012, the ice cream parlor was re-established as Magnolia Flavor House within the mall.
The four-level full service shopping mall has won several awards such as 2013 Shopping Center of the Year by the Philippine Retailers Association’s (PRA).
Unique mall experience
The porter service, its newest feature, is just one of the many ongoing customer-friendly features that the award-winning mall is offering to mall goers. Del Rosario added, “Nowadays, shoppers look for an experience and that’s our unique proposition. There’s a wow factor at the end. We want delighted customers after shopping. We want to offer a unique mall experience.
“We do look towards other malls abroad for the trends but it’s more of studying our customers and learning mroe about what gaps need to be addressed in their shopping experience.”
Robinsons Magnolia is owned and operated by RLC, the second largest mall operator in the Philippines.
