It’s bed-time weather indeed as the atmosphere turns chilly in the Philippines. But retail giant Bench still manages to keep things warm especially with its new fashion photo shoot featuring its Bench/Body line and Paolo Roldan, a Filipino-Canadian international supermodel.

It presents socks and underwear designed by Roldan, who also did the styling and direction of the fashion shoot. Photography by Mark Nicdao and jewelry by Natalya Lagdameo. The limited edition collection is now available in the Philippines and at the Bench Body pop up kiosk located at The Oculus in New York City.

The fashion shoot was done at Casa Manila museum in Intramuros, Manila. The wood and stone structure is patterned after the Spanish colonial houses and takes visitors back to the time when the elite class resided in the walled city. The current house is a reproduction but its furniture and the artworks are authentically from the 19th century.

On Instagram, the model (@juanpaoloroldan) describes Casa Manila as “an Ancestral style Home depicting colonial lifestyle during Spanish colonization. It is a beautiful place that will inspire. If you ever get a chance to go to the Philippines you must stop in Intramuros. The Philippines offers more than just beaches and great hospitality. Thanks to my friends who showed and taught me more about my culture on this trip.

Bench, a known supporter of various Philippine art initiatives is a sponsor of the biggest art event in 2018, Manila Biennale. A brainchild of cultural activist, performance artist, and tour guide Carlos Celdran, Manila Biennale:Open City 2018 happens on February 3 to March 5, 2018. It will have visual art exhibits, performance arts, talks, social gatherings, among others, set in various venues of Intramuros. The idea of the month-long event, according to Celdran, is to “bring back the soul of the city.” (For more details: manilabiennale.ph or Manila Biennale on Facebook.
