Volvo Philippines launches V40 to local market

MANILA, Philippines — Volvo Philippines has recently launched their all-new luxury 5-door, 5-seater hatchback dubbed the Volvo V40.

In a statement, Volvo Philippines said that the V40 has the same characteristics of their larger vehicles “wrapped in a sleek, compact package,” saying that it had combined “trendsetting design with class-leading driving dynamics.”

Loi Concepcion De Guzman, assistant vice president for marketing services at Volvo, said that the V40 is a bold expression of challenging the conventional.

“With great focus on the luxury look and feel of the car, the all-New Volvo V40 offers you a more engaging and personalized driving experience,” De Guzman said. “With keen attention to detail, the V40 also reflects Volvo’s promise of a car that is designed around you.”

On the exterior, the hatchback Volvo has “dynamically sculpted rear” set emphasize its width and muscular stance more, complemented by it “blacked out” lower area, creating an athletic, low and wide look.

On the inside, the V40 has a new fully graphic interactive dashboard with personalized layout and information that enhances the intuitive and uncomplicated driver experience.

“With the Volvo Sensus, all in-car infotainment settings are presented on a five-inch color screen in the upper part of the instrument panel,” the satement said. “The integrated screen makes it easy for the driver to keep his or her eyes on the road. All the functions can be operated from the steering wheel or via controls located directly below the color screen.”

The hatch is powered by a four cylinder, 1.6-liter GTDi T4 engine with 180 horsepower and a maximum torque of 240Nm, including a 30Nm overboost and will come in an automatic six-speed Powershift transmission.

Roselyn Dimalanta, first executive vice president of Viking Cars Incorporated, said that they are happy with their latest outing as they welcome the new V40 in the country.

Viking Cars Incorporated is the exclusive distributor of Volvo cars locally.

“With keen attention on vital aspects such as design, functionality, engine performance, chassis and driving dynamics, the Volvo V40 is set to create a whole new level of fun driving experience,” Dimalanta said.

The Volvo V40 will be available at an introductory price of PhP2,288,888.
